Wavyy Jonez: THE ACTOR FROM NBC’S “YOUNG ROCK” CAN ACTUALLY RAP!
At the start of 2021, NBC debuted their hit series based on the life of renowned professional wrestler and actor, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Initially fans praised the “frame story” series in which Johnson runs for president in 2023. Since, critics and fans have discovered the hidden musical talents of the actor who plays Johnson’s best friend, Russel Maryland.
Maryland is a former defensive tackle who played for the Dallas Cowboys, Oakland Raiders, and Green Bay Packers. He is known for his tenacity against the run, but he’s best known for helping Dallas score three Super Bowl rings!
As a result, fans wanted to not only relive the “Russell Maryland Era,” but also get a closer look at Wavyy Jonez, the actor who played him on NBC. We’ve seen Jonez in some of our favorite Netflix and Hulu episodes, but until today, no one knew he could rhyme.
DON’T PUT WAVYY JONEZ “INNA BOX”
Following the release of his “INNABOX” visual on his YouTube channel, fans are catching wind of his slick flow and loving it. The OmariIverson-shot mesmerizing visual was filmed in Times Square, capturing the essence of the record perfectly. It represents Jonez’s mantra of “don’t put him in a box”. As well as for anyone who feels they can do more than one thing-and be excellent at it.
