We know who’s the hottest artists on top right now in LA, and as a platform for rising artists, we need to put you on game to a few artists that took off so far this year and also who’s currently slept on that we feel deserves more recognition.
The NEW LA Wave is just what we needed for the West thanks to artists like 03 Greedo, Shoreline Mafia, Rucci, Drakeo and the Stinc Team just to name a few. The support between artists could be better but we’ve came along way and I couldn’t be more proud to call LA my home.
The list below isn’t in any order.
BlueFace
It’s easy to follow the “hype” and just mess with an artist to jump on the train because they’re hot in the moment but for LA native BlueFace being patient and working hard has now put him a position as one of the hottest up-and-comers to take off. Just hitting 1M streams, his single “DeadLocs” is still a summer anthem 6 months later. The numbers speak for themselves. Now at the prime of his career, he can’t be stopped and without him your party probably isn’t going to be turnt! His originality and high energy has turned him into a star and you definitely need to keep him on your radar.
Kee Riche$
Compton Rapper Kee Riche$ is one of my favorite artists. His drive and dedication to his music will and does inspire other artists to keep grinding and stay focused on your craft. GetRich is the motto for Kee and without a doubt he’s going to blow up by the end of the year and get the recognition he deserves. His latest project ‘Get Rich 2‘ is just what the streets need to hear. He always speaks the real – I call it motivation music. You need to add his music to your playlist ASAP.
Gary Bandana
Inglewood native Gary Bandana is the most improved artist dropping nothing but bangers this year. He’s also the most slept on artist. His raw talent and superior punchlines are pushing him closer & closer to the top. He has a lot to offer to the game and with unmatched confidence, you definitely will become a fan of his music. He’s up next!
AshBashThaRapper
This year female emcee’s really have been killin’ it and if you don’t know who AshBash is then your definitely sleep. She has no fear and her cold hearted raps is better then a lot of these dudes out here. Her grind is different and she’s on a paper chase and best believe she’s not letting anybody get in the way. She’s in her own lane and ready to take over. It’s a must to keep her on your radar.
Roddy Ricch
With cosigns from Nipsey Hussle, Meek Mill, and many more, Roddy Ricch is and will be one of the top rappers to come out of Compton. “Feed Tha Streets” is one of the best projects you’ll hear and despite the project’s last year release, this will forever be a classic. The streets have been showing Roddy Ricch mad love recently and we know we’ll hear new music very soon. It’s his time and it’s an absolute must to have his music in your playlist.
