Take a Trip to houston with J. horne & his emphatic new project
Houston has a rich history of Hip-Hop. From the beginning of the genre, they’ve had their hands in the mix and have produced legends like UGK, Scarface, Beyonce (LOL, she’s a gangster, I don’t care) and more. Utilizing his surroundings, Houston rapper J. Horne built a bit of a local following, right before relocating to Las Vegas. Making his mark in the Sin City, he drops off his engaging new mixtape, Homesick 4.
At 42-minutes, Homesick 4 is a lengthy, healthy dosage of music that taps into themes such as motivation, struggle, perseverance and more. Throughout the 14-tracks, Horne displays a confident demeanor, shuffling through infectious cadences like old shoes, and spitting out clever lines at, what might seem as random to us, but seems calculated to him. With only two songs boasting features, he utilizes the project to get his thoughts off exclusively, making for one of the more honest and personal releases in the underground so far this year.
Take a listen to the project below, and start paying attention to J. Horne.
