Shown 1K Channels His Resurrection on ‘Stackaveli’ Album

Stackaveli is Shown 1K’s latest release, channeling the late great Tupac, as it details his rebirth.

Shown 1K is reborn on his most recent project, Stackaveli, a play on Tupac’s Makaveli, and the idea of reincarnation, a rebirth into something greater. New, fresh music is what Shown 1K channels on his Stackaveli project. The concept of rebirth and wanting to do something greater using rap, his calling, to touch on the idea of becoming someone new, feels like Stackaveli is a new chapter in Shown 1K’s book, and it is evident as his sound is more refined. However, he still has a “harmonic flow with metaphoric bars and punchlines” that he is known for, which makes the project an overall banger.

The idea of rebirth is central in Stackaveli and also evident by Shown 1K, and his current career.

Before music, Shown 1K said that he was hustling in the streets, and now he’s “sharing the same stage as Lil Baby, Gucci Mane, Moneybagg Yo, and Boosie.” To now, he’s a father and has a mission of being able to provide for his family. His career and life have taken a completely different turn, and it also parallels what he is rapping about this rebirth, or shift, in his life is what Stackaveli is centered around.

To have to deal with his grandma dying from COVID-19, dealing with his baby mother, and being as vulnerable as he ever has before, Stackaveli is a concept album about rebirth. Ebbs & flows of life, and the idea of closure, all in a cyclical album from the eponymous intro track “Stackiveli – Intro” to the final song, “Closure – Outro,” Shown 1K speaks to the heart of what the project is about: grief, money, and change.

“I feel like it’s very important how you arrive and leave, and I’ma always give everything we are about to talk about in this body of work and leave on a good note.”

Stackaveli, although about change, is still happy capturing fun and dope moments or changes in Sown1k’s life, highlighted by songs that will get you moving and feeling good, seen in how Shown 1K gets down on “Dolce Gabanna,” a high-energy track filled with a harmonic flow and dope bass that will make anyone feel good. And that is only the start. His whole project’s filled with high-energy bops. You just gotta “Know What’s Up.”
