San Antonio Native PAINTITBLUES Drops Off His Reflective New Video For, “Late Bloomer”

One of the most popular phrases among people who are looking at others as a barometer of their own success is, “Run your race.” What they mean by that is not everybody is on the same timeline, and some people happen to peak earlier than others, we call them late bloomers. Hailing from San Antonio, rising rapper PAINTITBLUES identifies with the latter group, as he checks into our pages for the first time with his ode to the up-and-comers in the form of his new video for, “Late Bloomer.”

Shot throughout different rooms of a very nice house, PAINTITBLUES introduces himself to the screen with conviction, as he wastes no time getting into it. Over hard-hitting production, he rhymes a tale as old as time as he talks about how people who weren’t checking for him before, are beginning to do so now that he’s thriving. What separates this record from those before it, though, is the amount of self-awareness. As evidenced by the title, he seems to have an understanding as to why people weren’t on the bandwagon yet, as it was too early, and he wasn’t ready for success. Despite, over the course of the record he proves he’s ready now as he showcases his knack for intriguing punchlines that make the listener stop and reflect about their own journeys.

With his new project, My Eternal White Rose, set to drop on New Year’s Eve, now would be a great time to get familiar with the San Antonio native. Take a peek at the video above and be sure to check out PAINTITBLUES.
