Roc Kartel‘s long-awaited EP, Time is Now 3, a follow-up to Time is Now 1 and 2, is currently available on all digital streaming platforms!
PG County, Maryland rapper Roc Kartel, currently residing in Los Angeles, is channeling the idea of carpe diem in his latest project, Time is Now 3. Time is Now 3 is the third installment in Roc Kartel’s continuation of his EP series, documenting “personal events and things that occurred in [his] past.” The EP features Roc’s unique and eclectic sound influenced by “Hip-hop and Reggae.” Roc Kartel’s cadence sounds laid back and slow, reminiscent of Reggae music, mixing with the traditional subject matter and tempo of Hip Hop and Rap.
Roc’s EP is multi-faceted as he delivers a diverse EP, with a mix of songs that will catch anyone’s ear. As Roc Kartel conveys dope, introspective, and vulnerable songs as he details his life and his idea, in his own words of not letting anything “at all hold me back in any way.”
His five-track EP leads with “Shutup,” a song about standing on your own, and having ” no time for stupid shit,” and just trying to grind. He follows up “ShutUp” with his single from the project, “High Road,” released in early April, as a way to prepare fans for his forthcoming project, now available everywhere, as he also just released a visual for his lead single “High Road.”
He follows up “High Road” with his most catchy and mesmerizing song on the entire EP, “Only Fans,” as it blends rap and electronic guitar strums, making for a hypnotic beat that is truly distinctive and dynamic. Roc continues this striking and sensual energy with his next track, “Captain Savaho.” His deep and melodic refrain makes for a compelling song. He finishes the EP with his most vulnerable and unique-sounding song on the entire project, “Therapy.” Roc delivers a beautiful, intimate, and overall just lyrically important track about him “vent[ing]” about his life and just “trying to do good.” As he is just “trying to live,” as he strives to “show love, and give love, and receive love,” in any way he can, and that so happens to be his music.
