Rising Las Vegas Lyricist, Jay Grindz Delivers His Engaging New Project

Bursting through the scene as an indie artist in Las Vegas is not an easy thing to do. I mean, just think back to when life was simple and we could leave the house–think about all the things you can do in Vegas. & not just that, all of the people you can see. Local artists are fighting against the likes of Future, Celine Dion, the Golden Knights, a UFC fight and 50 various magicians, and that’s just on one Friday. So the fact that the scene is starting to bubble, it makes my heart warm as a Nevadan. Hailing from the Sin City, buzzing rapper Jay Grindz throws his hat in the ring with his debut full length, Traumatized.

One of the more intriguing things about this project, almost immediately, is how much of his personal story that Grindz shares. In an era of radio-friendly music and tracks that are more fun than substantial, Grindz does a brilliant job on Traumatized with providing us some substance, while also creating the fun. At 9-tracks, the project is a solid introduction to a Vegas artist that plans to stick around for a while.
