Pomona’s JAHMED should be on your radar

It’s not easy keeping up with all the music that’s hitting streaming platforms daily, but you will always find that one artist out the pack that has you like, “this sh*t hits different.” For me, it was 24-year old rapper-songwriter JAHMED. Dropping his first official single last month titled Archive, he’s the breath of fresh air we need in this industry. I know numbers aren’t the end all be all, but he’s on his second release and already has 75k monthly listeners on Spotify alone, not many artists can do that so soon.

Influenced by his roots growing up between Cali and Texas, his style is a delicate balance between the West Coast and the South. Following the momentum of his first release, he keeps it going with his new track, FIAT. Accompanied by a monochrome visual directed by Polygon, JAHMED’s flow is swift, energetic and infectious. Another aspect of his success seems to be a strong team he has backing him up, which is important. We are definitely looking forward to this year and what the future holds for JAHMED.
