Midwest Native King Kap Drops in With His Engaging EP, ‘Astronaut Music’
Staying consistent in Rap is one of the most endearing things you can do for your career as a lyricist. Due to the landscape of the way people consume not just music, but media as a whole these days, the one way to differentiate yourself and stay relevant is by continuously releasing content. Hailing from Indiana, rising rapper King Kap understands this notion perfectly, and has been using it to his advantage for some time. Looking to further establish his brand, he checks in with his new EP, Astronaut Music.
Clocking in at 6-tracks, Astronaut Music is an engaging project that finds King Kap leaning more into the wavy side of things. Throughout the 10-minute runtime, Kap slices through a handful of thumping, high-energy beats as he gets out his comfort zone to deliver one of his most accessible projects yet. Utilizing Southern inspired production to his advantage, he showcases amazing stamina as he hardly takes a break throughout the project, opting to ditch splashy guest verses for a more calculated singular perspective. Standouts from the project include, the spacey trunk rattler in, “I Do,” and, “Uh Huh,” an infectious intro that finds Kap setting the tone for the rest of the EP.
