Los Angeles Artist, Trew Uno Unleashes His Long-Awaited Project, ‘Welcome to Hell’
Taking a hiatus in music is one of the scariest things an artist can do, especially if you have a platform. Despite this, oftentimes the most talented artists see their music and life experiences as mutually exclusive, so the breaks are needed for some. Coming out of Los Angeles, Trew Uno has taken 7-years since his last full-length, Life With Lui. During that time, he got stronger, both mentally and lyrically, and leveled himself up in anticipation for his vengeance on the game in the form of his new project, Welcome to Hell.
At 11-tracks and a 25-minute runtime, Welcome to Hell provides a sample size of all of the talents that Uno has developed and sharpened over the last 7-years. On songs like, “Feel,” and, “No Fear,” he relies on his lyrical ability to set the tone of the album, providing his day-ones a bit of nostalgia while also showcasing to new fans why this project was waited on. It’s in the middle, though, where he displays his biggest leaps as an artist on, “Chino,” and “What A Loser.” Both produced by Anti, the two records draw heavily from Heavy Metal inspiration, both in the production and vocals as Uno puts on performances that show glimpses of a rockstar future. Other standouts on the project include, “Stuck,” and “Absorb,” the latter of which stands as my personal favorite.
After delivering a body of work worthy of a wait, it should be interesting to see what Trew Uno does next. Take a listen to his project below and get familiar.
