East L.A. Native Viva Mescal Drops Off His Infectious New Video

Latin culture within Hip-Hop has always had it’s place. I remember growing up in Southern California, and every Sunday night they would be playing Chicano rap on the radio. For me, it was dope because many of my closest friends were Hispanic, so the representation made me smile. When I watch East L.A. native Viva Mescal in his new video for, “Mi Vida Nueva”, that nostalgic feeling comes right back.

Directed by Moses Israel, the video follows Mescal through familiar scenes of his house and neighborhood, accentuating the relatable shots such as the one with the conchas and the Hot Cheetos. Utilizing these poignant shots, Mescal effortlessly flows throughout the whole track, creating a connection with the listener that makes them care more about Mescal’s journey.

Check out the video for, “Mi Vida Nueva” above and get familiar with Viva Mescal.
