DJ FlipSyde Continues To Be One Of The Most Sought Out DJs
Harlem’s heavyweight turntable king DJ FlipSyde is here to bring listeners a set they won’t forget! With a passion for music at a young age, he’s witnessed the evolution of music from vinyl to CD to digital in front of his eyes.
Harlem’s Turntable King
As a result of his keen ear for music and talent, he’s been the go-to deejay of variety mash ups for the majority of his life. His love of music and admiration for both traditional and cutting-edge sounds began when he was ten years old. This is when he discovered pivotal hip hop records and was hooked. His passion for music grew so strong over the years that he decided to start his own label and produce his own music. Moreover, Flipsyde may now be found in Times Square, Soho, and Chelsea.
In fact, he’s been at the nexus of music, fashion, and nightlife since. When it comes to spinning at an event, the club or wherever — Hip Hop, Pop/House, Reggaeton, Latin, and Jazz are just a few of the genres he blends. Also, his work ethic, talent and dedication have landed him some great opportunities. As well as having him play alongside some iconic DJs in music such as: Funk Master Flex, DJ Clo Heavyhitters,DJ Camilo and DJ Enuff.
The Rize Of FlipSyde
In the late 90s, he caught the attention of Hip-Hop trailblazers Jay Z, Damon Dash, and Sean Puffy Combs. Because of this he was invited to DJ most of their fashion shows, including the Magic Show in Las Vegas. To be honest, this was just the beginning for FlipSyde. Fast forward to the early 2000s, and he broadcast live on KTU 103.5 and the NYC Culture Club.
A young Flipsyde made it his motto to play all genres of music, for all people, all over the world. Including Germany, Australia, France, London, Hawaii, Haiti, and the Virgin Islands. With musical influences by JMJ, Kid Capri, DJ Red Alert, DJ Scribbles, DJ AM, and DJ Chuckie’s genre-defying styles, he continues to push the culture forward.
DJ FlipSyde Partners With Teamwork Music Records To Make The Dream Work
Recently, Flipsyde has partnered up with Teamwork Life, which works with both Desert Storm Radio and is an executive at Sha Money XL’s Teamwork Music Records. DJ Flipsyde was able to collaborate with platinum producers like Chris N Teeb, Music Exec Sha Money XL, and a slew of songwriters and artists as a result of this.
It was only right considering music is integrated into the very fabric of his being! DJ Flipsyde’s career is the result of a lifetime of deejaying across the world, watching people react, and getting them on their feet and to the dance floor!

By keeping my ears in tune with radio , clubs n movies and tv shows. Plus my heart beats to the streets so I’m always in tune. With music wise my ears and the goosebumps I get while hearing these tunes ..

- Perfect! Old school meets new school. What would you say is the most rewarding part of being a DJ?
Watching each person smiling and enjoying themselves after a flipsyde set plus getting booked to travel to other countries seeing the world from state to state and country to country. It’s like being a chef and cooking a dish n meal and waiting for the aftermath …
Getting new exclusive music and being that individual to break the music and introducing it to the fans .. WE ARE THE Algorithm and set the tread and others follow us ..

- Agreed! The DJs are the gatekeepers to the streets and mainstream. I’m sure as a DJ people are constantly stepping up to the DJ booth. I’ve witnessed it for years in this industry. How do you feel about fans doing that & how do you handle guests when they come up to make requests?
It’s ok with me. I love engaging with the fans I play for the people .. requests have its con and pros. It could sometimes throw you off your set and sometimes make you remember about a tune so the fans keep me on my game …
- Understood! Next, what was that experience like when becoming a residential DJ?
Means a lot .. owners promoters and clients love everything about the soundtracks I was playing for the night .. IT MEANS PEOPLE ARE LISTENING TO U EACH NIGHT AND THEY Appreciate the music it’s all love on my end / blessings after blessings…
