Check in With San Diego Rapper Star2 & His Engaging New Video For, “Big Bands”
Unless you live under a rock, then you’re well aware that one of the most popular games of the last 25 years is Grand Theft Auto. Utilizing a free-for-all, open-world system that allows players to roam free, make bad choices and move like savages. Hailing from San Diego, rising rapper Star2 doubles down on the notion of the game’s popularity by checking in with his engaging new GTA inspired video for, “Big Bands.”
Directed by Lubomir Atan, the animated video is heavily inspired by Grand Theft Auto, as we find an animated Star walking out of a bank with a big bag of cash after swiftly robbing the place. Once we’re fully introduced to Star, we see him getting picked up by none other than featured artist $tupid Young, before the two head off the aptly titled, “Big Bandy.” Though the visual itself is a treat, the real star of this show is the chemistry between the two Asian-American rappers in real life. Serving as one of the standouts on his recently released Real Life EP, the pair eagerly trade off introspective bars about growing from turmoil to rich over the fast-paced production, making for a catchy record that quickly reveals it has high replay value.
Make sure you take a look at the video below and get familiar with Star2, who’s star is quickly rising.
