Brendon Faiyaz and Drake team up for “Wasting Time”
There’s been more than a year since Brent Faiyaz released his last studio album, Fuck The World, a 10-track release that further solidified his position as one of the best R&B artists out there. Over the past few years, the Maryland native has continued to make headlines with a slew of singles such as “Dead Man Walking,” “Show U Off,” and “Gravity” with DJ Dahi and Tyler, The Creator. Brent Faiyaz teamed with producers Atu and Dpat for the Sonder track “Nobody But You”, including Jorja Smith. Brent Faiyaz’s last project, Fuck The World, set a new standard for R&B records. In the years since, the Maryland native has released a flurry of singles, including “Dead Man Walking,” “Show U Off,” and “Gravity,” which he collaborated with DJ Dahi and Tyler, The Creator. He even reconnected with producers Dpat and Atu for the Sonder cut “Nobody But You,” which he collaborated on with Jorja Smith.
The rapper continues to build his momentum with new song “Wasting Time” in which he enlists Drake and listens to production by The Neptunes, making it one of the biggest releases of the summer thus far. As far as lyrical content is concerned, the two artists can be heard singing and rapping about their love interests and requesting time together whenever possible:
Drake’s latest feature on “Wasting Time” follows some recent contributions to such tracks as Nicki Minaj’s “Seeing Green” Yung Bleu’s “You’re Mines Still,” and Lil Wayne’s “B.B. King Freestyle.”
