BAS, Lil TJay, and J.Cole unite for “The Jackie”
“The Jackjie” will likely be the first single off of Bas’ upcoming album, which is likely his next release in 2021. Lil TJay and J. Cole assist him. Bas handles the opening verse, on which three New York heads (although Cole is a North Carolina native, he has long claimed NYC is his second home) join forces for a summer anthem:
Among other recent collabs, Bas also teamed up with Wyclef Jean and Price for “Selfish”, and he also teamed up with The Hics once more for “Smoke From Fire”. As a Dreamville podcast host, Bas used his voice and influence to speak about topics that were important to him, as he shared a story about Uganda’s fight for freedom. Although Milky Way was Bas’ last full-length album, he has contributed to a number of singles since then, including Rexx Life Raj’s “No Permission Needed,” Dua Saleh’s “RE(a)D” and FKJ’s “Risk.”
Despite his sixth studio album debuting at #1 on the Billboard Album 200 chart, J. Cole has been in the headlines for the past few months. His solo project broke a streak of no features, as he received assistance from fellow Carolinian Morray, 21 Savage, 6lack, Lil Baby, and his Dreamville team mate Bas.
