Today I want to shed light on a dope MC from Downey by the name of MackGee. Part of the Get Rich Team, a collective made up of various artists of diverse backgrounds who not only create music but they give back to the community and much more.
What’s unique about music is each artist has a story to tell and each artist does it in their own way. “I’ve been writing lyrics down for as long as I can remember, but have only been recording music for about a year now,” MackGee tells us. Furthermore, he also states that music became a safe haven after going through hard times.
With influences from J.Cole, Dave East, and Nipsey Hussle, you’ll most certainly feel those vibes when you take a listen to his first official EP, Overtime. You would think he’s been doing this forever the way he makes it sound so easy. Bars on bars on bars.. he’s spitting noteworthy lyrics that will have you doing a double take.
I can’t even choose which track is my favorite because all 4 tracks are bangers. Each one exhibits his confidence level and his limitless potential. Who knows where his career is going to take him but one thing for sure he’s going to take off.
