According to Yung Bleu, police in Georgia have racially profiled him
Yung Bleu has accused police in Gainesville, Georgia, and the owner of a store there of racially profiling him and his crew after he tried to purchase a trailer for his upcoming tour from them. A video of the incident and details about what happened was posted to Instagram by the “You’re Mines Still” singer on Monday (Aug. 23).
“THE GAINESVILLE, GA POLICE OFFICERS are profiling us racially!” he captioned the video. They approached me and my team for absolutely nothing with the promise to get a trailer for my tour at (Absolute Trailers) The owner is an old white man who told the police they are suspecting fraud! I just wanted to buy a trailer! First officers approach us with guns drawn, saying, “What are you guys doing here?”
Yung Bleu continued that the officers were waiting for him on the highway and pulled him over for “obstructed” tags.
‘We have a brief back and forth and then as I leave, the cop sits in the middle of the road waiting for us,’ he said. I was trapped and they got behind me! Although my tag may be obstructed, her lights were clearly on long before she saw my car! Since then, 5 cars have pulled up on us! Falsely claiming that we commit fraud and lie every which way! I have more video, but it will only be used as evidence. I don’t think we did anything wrong!“
Yung Bleu’s fans rushed to his defense in the comments section. “Don’t let them have your business, king, and protect yourself from them. Keep that phone rolling!”, one fan wrote.
“Wow, like a young Black man can’t do good in life That’s crazy. God Bless & be careful out there!” wrote another fan.
