Lourdiz & Jon Z Join Forces On New Bilingual Single “Ground Control”

18-year-old singer/songwriter/producer Lourdiz unapologetically stakes her claim with the release of her latest single “Ground Control,” recruiting Puerto Rican rapper Jon Z (known for his collab on YG’s “Go Loko”). Lourdiz’ experimental vocal stylings and genre-blending instrumentals make her rap/R&B project refreshingly unique, pulling influence from both her family’s Mexican heritage and bilingual upbringing on her third single release, “Ground Control”.

“When I wrote ‘Ground Control,’ I wanted to find a way to blend elements from the songs I grew up listening to with the artists I love today,” explains Lourdiz. “My family’s Mexican culture is a big part of my identity, it’s who I am and where I came from, so the song is all about blending my past and my future.””I’m very grateful for the experience of writing this record [‘Ground Control’] with Jon Z.  It was a very grounding process and bringing in his vibe was the key,” expresses Lourdiz.

Lourdiz
came blazing onto the scene with her self-written debut single, “I’m Pissed” (released on March 3rd) and soon followed-up with fan-favorite “Suicide Down” ft. ATL lyricist Lil Gotit (March 26th). Her relentless lead releases are definite proof of her skill and sonic versatility, boldly setting the stage for her forthcoming project, due out later this year.
