Blaise Is Back With More Greatness In 2023!

Since her childhood, rising Philadelphia artist Blaise has always had a passion for music. As she transitioned into a recording artist, the Philly native developed an authentic sound. In doing so, she provides calm, cool and collected energy throughout her discography. Still new to the airwaves, Blaise is dedicated to protecting her flows and craft. As a result, she aims to expand her fanbase and garner some notoriety throughout 2023. For those new to Blaise, be sure to learn more about her here at On Tha Rize Mag!

  • How long have you been creating music and what inspired you to start?

I’ve been creating music for the last 3 years now, and after my uncle and my close friend both passed, I didn’t have many outlets to use. I would usually just call my little sister, but then making music became helpful as well. I didn’t wanna talk much at all, and just kept writing out how I felt.

  • Would you say growing up in Philadelphia helped influence you to step into a creative space? Or did you seek inspiration elsewhere?

Yes, it definitely helped influence me sometimes with all of the big voices coming out of the city. I also tap into New York City to get a lot of inspiration as well (birthplace of hip-hop).

  • Do you have any artists or other creators that you studied growing up? Or even in the steps leading to your music career?

I grew up listening to Pharrell, Lil Wayne, Missy Elliot, Musiq Soul Child and Aaliyah. I’m a true fan of the music from the early 2000s and late 90s.

  • Out of curiosity, which one of your releases would you say is your current favorite and what was the inspiration behind it?

“Mindset” –  I created that song in like 30 min to an hour, writing wise. I was in my mode. I had a solid hook and two sturdy verses. I was talking about my past a little more and I was feeling vulnerable as hell recording it, but that’s how I knew it was gonna be relatable.

  • Even though you are primarily an artist, do you aim to be -or- are you already a jack of all trades? (i.e producing, singing, songwriting for others, engineering, etc.)

I’m singing more, and songwriting too. It definitely doesn’t take me too long to come up with a sturdy “catchy hook”. Recently, I’ve also put a foot forward in learning how to engineer my sound.

  • What is one thing you would like to contribute or change within the music industry that would help you or others as a creator?

I’d like to attend more networking events and more showcases.

  • What are your goals as a creative in the next 3-5 years?

To drop fire content and perform on the biggest stages. I’d also create my own label. I wouldn’t mind also properly signing to a label and inspiring the generation after me, and lastly, I see myself on tour.

  • Where can we keep up with you?
