Nigerian Rising Act OGC Shares Afrofusion-infused Singles “Life” And “Godson”

Nigerian multi-hyphenate OGC has shared two new singles, “Life” and “Godson.”

“Life,” powered by a jumpy bassline, lush piano arrangements, and ethereal Afrobeats-infused harmonies, and held together superbly by OGC’s infectious vocal delivery and gripping storytelling lyrics, sees the singer wax lyrical about the unpredictable journey of surviving life as a young person, finding love, and aspiring to greater heights.

OGC shares Godson and Life

The hard-hitting drums and synth set the tone for a musical tale about achieving success against all odds and proving a point even when his life is literally at stake as he sings in his local lingua, “If I no strong, them for kuku kill me.”

On “Godson,” OGC focuses on a very distinctive, resonant tune, rhythm, and rhymes that make the song more universally relatable. The singer explores the themes of love and lovemaking as he opens up to his belle.

The mid-tempo tune showcases OGC’s penmanship and incredible vocal range. His vocal performance is laid-back, yet the charismatic melody he delivers matches the production’s ambient nature. The rising singer’s intimate song-writing, powerful hook, and sweet vocals shine through on “Godson.”
