Las Vegas Rapper LeaninLo Taps in With His Thrilling New Album, ‘Checkin Chicken 2’
Over the last 2 years, the pandemic has meant a lot of different things to many different people. For most, it’s been a time of confusion and turmoil that has inspired them to either push through the B.S. and be stronger, or wallow in your sorrows waiting, for a solution to pop up. Hailing from Las Vegas by way of Los Angeles, rising rapper LeaninLo is firmly in the former category. Utilizing the time and newfound free time from millions of potential fans, he took his time sharpening his craft while releasing a handful of singles in anticipation for his impending album. Now looking to further solidify himself, the album is finally here, as he unleashes his new project, Checkin Chicken 2.
Clocking in at almost 38-minutes, the 14-song project is simultaneously a solid introduction to LeaninLo for new fans, as well as a worth-the-wait performance for established fans. Throughout the album, he employs different types of production, ranging from club bangers like, “Bad Girls Club,” to thumping head-knockers on tracks like, “Fuck a Drought,” showcasing slightly more versatility than before by trying different sounds. Another intriguing note about the project is his ability to maneuver around his features, which range from established acts like Sada Baby, to fellow Las Vegas natives like Jovan Mack Land, Impact RH and Onmywayve. Instead of adhering to traditional thoughts of either stepping aside for your guest, or completely stepping on them, Lo does a brilliant job of finding a balance. Instead of falling back or overshadowing guests, he finds a chemistry with each one of them that justify their place on the project.
After delivering a solid project after months of hype, LeaninLo is starting to build a great reputation with fans. Be sure to take a listen to the album below and get familiar with the rising emcee.
