ANJEZA shatters borders through her music
We have seen latin artists sing Pop American Music such as Selena Gomez, Becky G, – American artists sing latin music like Selena, Jennifer Lopez – Hip Hop Artists getting into regional Mexican music like Snoop Dogg, and as of recently a Euro-American artist , ANJEZA, fully immersed into latin urban music.
Life is all about colors and variety, trials and experiences- however ANJEZA assures us that her destination is more than just a phase.
With the knowledge of four languages and a, unique ability to sing in nine languages – she declares that latin urban music genre is the mirror of her identity.
ANJEZA dabbed with music at an early age – first as a dancer and then as a singer moving into different music genres such as Pop/Dance/Edm/Rnb but nothing quite clicked until she encountered Latin/Urban Music.
According to ANJEZA, Urban/Flamenco music presented the perfect balance between the old and the new- bringing unity of cultures and genres – passion and truth- colors of acceptance- happiness and escape.
ANJEZA has self titled this new genre UFF a.k.a Urban Fusion Flamenco. Differently from artist like Rosalia that introduced fusion flamenco internationally and fused it with trap- ANJEZA fuses flamenco/ reggaeton with Rap and Caribbean sounds.
In the last year she has released six songs that have created a buzz in the Latin Music Industry.

ANJEZA has no latin DNA, no childhood story in the countries of Spain or Cuba, no parents that lived all their life in Puerto Rico or Colombia, no years of latin school attendance, no latin friends growing up – yet this renaissance woman learned Spanish watching tv shows, dances beautiful salsa and bachata without any training, speaks fluently Spanish and often is mistaken to be Latin American. ANJEZA recognized as ANGIE GEGA in the acting world has recently appeared as a guest star in a prime time soap opera for Televisa – one of the most prestigious network of Mexico.
ANJEZA was born and raised in a country influenced by a variety of artistic cultures as a result of different political invasions. Italy, Greece, Russia, Romania, Germany, Turkey were some of the countries and cultures that influenced her growth and likings in music and dance.
ANJEZA studied the history of flamenco for few years right before diving into Urban Fusion Flamenco. Seeing the journey of growth, strength, passion and change that flamenco has endured in the history of music and the diverse identity that it carries, it was clear that flamenco was her and she was flamenco.
Bottled up with stories to tell since her difficult childhood upbringing, she fell in love with rap and “ability to say everything you got inside your chest and call it art,” she admits laughing
Flamenco and Urban music were the two main ingredients that created her music identity. In both of these elements she found passion, independence, strength, happiness, and an opportunity to bring to the audience a profound message.
“Latin People have been lovely and very accepting of me” she expresses “ with some occasional commentary approach of people in the industry saying that I have no latin blood and no story to tell. And yet the best story to tell is that of a young girl falling in love with a beautiful culture and respectfully elevating history.”
“Music has no borders,” she says. “You don’t look at your partner and say why do you love me. I am not the same color as you. It’s like, I love you silly, for the way you make me feel. Latin/Urban music is my life partner and even though I am theoretically considered white, it’s my human right to love and call a music of color, my family,” she concludes.
