Tony Da Kidd is back following the release of his last single, “Gucci Slide Steppin,” as he returns with an incredible and versatile cadence, energy, and charisma on his latest project, And Beyond.
Meet Tony Da Kidd, an artist originally from South Carolina, currently living in Los Angeles. Tony Da Kidd got his artist name, “Tony” from playing football in high school. The “Kidd” part of his name he says came from his “childish” personality. Although he was already making music, Tony Da Kidd started pursuing music in 2014 after he released a song, and during his stint in Japan, Tony saw accolades from the local community who began booking him for shows, and showing him love. Tony knew he could then pursue music professionally.
From then on, destined to be an artist, Tony Da Kidd channeled his inner turmoils and decided to authentically and genuinely put himself out there and tell his story. Through his music, he tries to help his audience “through tough time[s]” with his storytelling, authenticity, and raw ness that you can tell sets Tony Da Kidd apart from the rest. The artist is just a different breed, showcased on his latest album, And Beyond. His diversity and juxtaposition of sound truly puts Tony in a lane of his own.
From hit tracks that are certified bops like “P’s & Q’s,” featuring Jah Kang, and “Big Dawg,” to coming through with the vibes to deliver melodic masterpieces such as “Change,” — Tony Da Kidd can do it all. “Change” specifically is a song Tony references as the one from the project that speaks to him the most. The entire project showcases Tony’s talent to diversify his sound and not be tied down to anyone one genre, as he describes his music as a mix of influences between artists like “50 Cent, J. Cole, Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar, and Big Krit.” Yet, carving a lane of his own, crafting a unique and diverse sound.
Tony delivers some of his best bars, as his latest project is about having the pressure to succeed and outperform his earlier work. And while Tony Da Kidd has already put in a bunch of hard work, he still has a lot more to prove to himself and audiences, which is clear with his project, And Beyond. He definitely exceeds expectations.
“I had many people asking me, ‘what’s next,’ ‘what are you going to drop next?’ ‘It has to be better than the last project.’ Every time someone would say that, I would think to infinity and beyond. I called it “And Beyond” because this will go somewhere for me. I’ve gone the distance already, and now it’s time to go beyond that,” Tony Da Kidd says in a recent interview.
Tony Da Kidd does in fact go above ‘And Beyond,’ proving himself as an artist to keep an eye on in the future.
