Cocanina shares her new single “Do My Best”
Canadian artist Cocanina releases another masterpiece for her fans. Her new single “Do My Best” is out now on all platforms and tells the story of when Cocanina found out she was pregnant. The rising star gets honest and vulnerable on this track.
“I make music about how I feel in the moment, sometimes I’m sad and sometimes I’m happy but all my music is genuine and real,” Cocanina says. “My sound can be described as somewhere between pop princess and hood baby.”
The inspiration for “Do My Best” came to Cocanina when she found out that she was pregnant. The single has a wholesome and soothing vibe to it. Cocanina expresses her feelings about being a mom through this piece. She understands that her life will change significantly in a few months. With every lyric, fans can feel the emotion and love behind this single. She wants her fans to realize that it is okay to be vulnerable and show their true side.
“I did my first ultrasound thinking I had an ulcer and they told me I was pregnant,” she says. “I went straight to the studio and tracked the song. When I heard the heart beat, and realized I was going to be a mom, I never felt so alive.”
Music is more than just a career for Cocanina. It’s a platform where she can be herself and express her feelings by writing them down. This upcoming artist believes in writing genuine music. She was always drawn to music since her childhood. In a few short years, Cocanina was able to gather such a massive fanbase through her art.
With songs like “401 west” and “Smooth Killa,” she has entertained hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide. Her primary musical influencers were artists like Amy Winehouse, Biggie Smalls, and Eartha Kitt. Cocanina wants to inspire millions and touch their hearts with her music.
From being a waitress to a cleaning lady, Cocanina has worked several jobs growing up. She has also contributed to many charities through volunteer work. Aside from music, she is interested in cooking, painting, and baking. Moreover, she is exceptionally good at pottery. Cocanina has dreamt of winning at the BET Awards while sitting next to Beyonce. That goal does not seem unattainable if she keeps creating songs like “Do My Best.”
This Canadian artist is genuinely gifted and will undoubtedly continue to create impactful songs. After releasing “Do My Best,” she has started working on a follow-up for her previous single, “401 West.” She further plans to release an EP in December and a full-length album in February next year.
