Reina Releases Sultry New RNB Single “At Midnight”
Reina started recording at fifteen, making her rounds performing in LA’s nightlife since she was seventeen, gaining experience along her way as she is back with a new song, “At Midnight.”
Independent artist Reina just released her newest song “At Midnight.” It’s an R&B vibe that takes the audience on a journey of self-love, explaining how she’s a woman about her business but loves on her own terms.
“I begin the song by explaining how busy I have been as an artist and how it would be fun to take a break but I have no time,” Reina says. “The chorus then explains that once in a while when I am back, I will make that time for you and the bridge explains that if you really do love me, then you have to be down and know that I care about you but I am also a woman about my business.”
In true boss fashion, Reina showcases her independent side. She lets it be known that while she’s working towards her goals, she doesn’t have time to play around.
In a recent interview, Reina explained that her musical background and passion comes ultimately from her family. In fact, she’s the granddaughter of legendary musicians Verdine White who is a member of Earth, Wind & Fire, and Shelly Clark White, singer of The Honey Cone. Music has always been in her life, so it is no surprise that Reina has become the artist she is now. Through her music she hones in on her identity, which is inspired by her roots of African-American and Latina descent, and of course, her West Coast culture, which is evident in her music and visuals, especially in songs/videos such as the “Low Ridin” visual.
Destined to be an artist, Reina always knew that music was what she wanted to pursue. She strives to inspire others, just as her grandparents and other artists have done for her throughout her music career. She takes the craft seriously and it’s clear to see her tenacity, aptitude, and love for music that is positively inspirational.
“Music and serving others is my passion, and I began working towards my career as an artist when I was 15,” Reina said. “I had grown up knowing I would become a singer, and I was told that there were no limitations to my dreams and goals. Knowing that my future was dependent on my proactiveness. I decided to take advantage of my resources, and my father had me recording in the studio at 15.”
Starting at such a young age, Reina has proved herself as an artist with her talent, some high-profile collaborations such as Nipsey Hussle, Yella Beezy, Verdine White, My Guy Mars and more. Reina’s new song “At Midnight,” shows just how much we have yet to see from the songstress, as she shows audiences a new side of her and continues to surprise fans with something unique every time.
Dropping one of her most introspective and exposed tracks this far, Reina showcases her talent as she details the hardships of being a boss in the music industry and juggling a love life.
“I hope for ‘At Midnight’ that people can have fun with the song and vibe to it but also understand the story behind the song about the hardship of wanting a career, and having to choose your priorities when it comes to love and work,” she explains.
