Sin City’s Own Leanin’ Lo Unleashes His Engaging New Project, ‘Broken Promises’
Hip-Hop is a hustler’s game, plain and simple. Why it’s all well and good to be the most talented, artists who work harder than others have always panned on in this genre, even if people don’t want to admit it themselves. Hailing from Las Vegas, Leanin’ Lo is the ultimate hustler, releasing a stream of impresses releases over the last 2 years that have featured names like BlueBucks Clan, Garren, LAZR and more. Looking to pair that hustle with his immense talent, he doubles down and both and releases his anticipated new project, Broken Promises.
Boasting 8-tracks, Broken Promises is the next evolutionary step, sonically, for the Eastside Las Vegas native. Known more upbeat, high-tempo records that revolve around getting money and usually place importance on the featured artist, he spends most of the 17-minute run-time showcasing how he’s developed his own sound. Almost immediately, the project provides one of it’s standouts in the form of the intro, “Late Night Musashi.” Paying homage to a classic late night local eatery, he paints a picture that many Las Vegas natives can relate to, telling a story about ending a fun night with his woman at the restaurant while keeping things lyrically engaging.
Other standouts on the project include, “Man Down,” the Lil’ Pole assisted banger that is in line with what fans have come to know from Lo, “Paid in Full,” one of the few feature-less songs that give him some time to vent and, “Contagious.” Serving as the lead single for the project, the song features Lo going back and forth with Spank Rokk and TheyCallMeYak over incredible production from OnMyWayve, a frequent collaborator with Lo.
Be sure to take a listen to the project below and get familiar with Leanin’ Lo, one of Las Vegas’ most consistent artists out.
