Get Familiar With Arizona Rapper, NUT!!! & His Eclectic New Album, ‘NUTSTAR’
Life is about adapting and evolving. If you always stay the same, how is it possible to get better? These are the notions that were running through Arizona native, NUT!!!’s head last year. After building a buzz under his former moniker, Young Nut, the rising rapper opted to completely change his name, though his ideals are largely still the same, albeit with a better sound. Looking to establish his new identity, he checks in with his intriguing new album, NUTSTAR.
At 8-songs, NUTSTAR finds its’ footing through its’ quirky lyricism. As made immediately apparent with song titles like, “DOOKIE,” “LonelyNut,” and my personal favorite, “whatchuwantsumDICK?” NUT isn’t here to be bashful, as he rhymes about the exact topics that those titles suggest he would rap about. While the titles and topics may seem like a joke, his skills are not to be doubted, though, as he proves his worth on a number of songs on here. The most impressive performance, though, has to be on the outro, “all for you.” Featuring a guest appearance from SAIAH, the duo showcase incredible chemistry as they gracefully skate through the production from NUT, Marinelli and Bahama John.
In all, NUTSTAR is a creative reintroduction to an artist that was already starting to catch his stride. With videos and more content sure to accompany this release, it would be wise to keep an ear out for Arizona’s newest export.
